Our Coverage Area
Six
Forks
EMS
covers approximately 110 sq. miles of Northwest Raleigh. We are called to
service via a Computer Aided Dispatch system originating from the
Raleigh-Wake
Emergency Communications Center . Every ambulance in Wake County is
dispatched via this system which allows
us to collectively provide
seamless coverage to the entire county. As part of the Wake County
Public Safety team Six Forks EMS is currently integrating computerized
GPS systems into our fleet of vehicles. This will allow the Computer
Aided Dispatch system to assign calls based on actual ambulance
proximity rather than ambulance station location.
We operate 24
hours per
day,
365 days per year with four ambulances during weekday daylight
hours and two
ambulances
during nights
and weekends. We
handled over 5,100
"911"
dispatched calls for calendar year 2007.
